Economic and Political Incentives for Climate Action: Creating a Business Case for the Private Sector
Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) seeks to discuss new ways to increase private sector engagement for climate adaptation and mitigation measures, particularly but not exclusively in Sub-Saharan Africa. This includes the paradigm shift of allocating efforts to fight climate change
within the sector of development aid or international aid exclusively, but rather strengthening the business case for climate investments. At the same time, KAS fully recognizes the historic responsibility of climate change lying within industrialized countries and upholds the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities (CBDR) as laid out in the Rio Declaration.
