First edition of Dan was published on the 31st of December in 1998 by the media outlet Jumedia Mont. Founder of the newspaper was Duško Jovanović who was murdered on the 27th of May in 2004. Dan is considered one of the most influential media in Montenegro, and it is still printed in Cyrillic script. Besides that, Dan Jumedia Mot owns the magazine Revija D, and two radio stations - D and D+.

Dnevne novine is one of the youngest print products in Montenegro, having been established in 2011. After its first issue, it gained fast influence among the public. Since 2012, the e-paper is available online for free. Dnevne novine is the only free newspaper of the country, being funded mainly through advertisements.

Informer Montenegro is the newest print media outlet in Montenegro. It is a branch of the Serbian tabloid Informer. In March 2014, Informer started publishing its Montenegrin edition.
Daily newspaper Pobjeda was for a long time the only newspaper printed in Montenegro. Founded in 1944, immediately after World War II, it is now financed from state budget.

The daily Vijesti is one of the most influential print media in Montenegro. It was published for the first time on the 1st of September in 1997. It is issued by the company Daily Press, in Podgorica, owned by U.S. fund MDIF, Austrian Stirije. Its associated website is one of the most popular news portals of Montenegro.
