The textbook provides an overview of the most commonly used control techniques and systems in environmental processes, which help to keep the environment cleaner, and all ist measurable and immeasurable parameters in accordance with the new regulations, initiatives, and plans. The need to engage in environmental control systems arises in the application of new techniques for environmental cleanup, in the application of new stricter regulations, in reducing the costs of applying new technologies for environmental sustainability, in adopting better operational and engineering decisions, early detection of problems, as well as faster emergency response adapted to the new trends in environmental policies.

One chapter is devoted to the importance of the Berlin Process (as a diplomatic, but also an environmental initiative), as well as to the Green Deal, as an initiative of the European Union to make its own economy sustainable.
