Adenauer Security Experts Network Philippines (SeEN PH)

Through the SeEN PH program, the SeEN PH Fellows will each produce a policy paper on the policy topic accepted by KAS at the time of selection.

A culminating activity will be held where the 3 SeEN PH Fellows are required to defend their policy paper as part of the completion requirements. Only policy papers that gain a satisfactory rating shall be published by KAS Philippines.

Dr. Jovanie Camacho ESPESOR

Professor, Mindanao State University – General Santos

Jovanie Camacho Espesor is a professor at the Department of Political Science, College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mindanao State University – General Santos, Philippines. In 2019, he received his degree Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from the Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand with scholarship grants from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Government of New Zealand and the European Union Centre Network. Jovanie is an executive board member of the Research Committee on Conflict, Security and Democratization (RC44) and Research Committee on Climate Security and Planetary Politics (RC52) of the International Political Science Association. He is also a research fellow of the Centre for Middle East and Global Peace Studies of the National Islamic University (UIN-Jakarta) of Indonesia, and visiting researcher at the Universitas Syiah Kuala, in Aceh, Indonesia, Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan and Georgetown Institute for Women Peace and Security of Georgetown University in Washington DC. He is also a fellow of the Salzburg Global Seminar in Austria. Currently, Jovanie held administrative posts in various capacities as Special Assistant to the Chancellor, Planning Director, Press Director and recently Director of Research and Development of the Mindanao State University-General Santos. At present, he is the Programme Head of the Master in Public Administration at the School of Graduate Studies. He also providing consultancy services to the World Bank, Save the Children, Asian Development Bank, Relief International, The Asia Foundation, International Alert, the United Nations Development Programme and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy. Recently, Jovanie managed an international research project on Men and Masculinities in Conflictual Societies with the Georgetown University in Washington and Integral Asia, and with generous grant from the Sasakawa Peace Foundation of Tokyo, Japan.

Ms. Michelle PUDADERA

Defense Research Officer, Armed Forces of the Philippines

Michelle Pudadera currently serves as a Defense Research Officer at the International Affairs Division, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans, J5 of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. She has been with OJ5 since 2018 and prior to her current position, she was assigned to the Contingency Planning Branch of the War Plans Division. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with Certificate in International Studies at University of St. La Salle – Bacolod. Additionally, she has completed certificate courses from the Development Academy of the Philippines and a training course from the University of Wollongong through the Australia Awards. These include the Certificate Course in Geopolitics and International Relations; Certificate Course in National and International Security; and Training Course in the Law of the Sea. She has also represented her office in various local and international conferences and meetings, such as the ASEAN Civil Military Coordination Workshop and the Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines Joint Working Group Meetings.
