Symposium
Details
The participants discussed diverse questions related to the protection of basic rights in Asia and Europe. The event mainly was held in German language and was supported by DAAD, KAS Rule of Law Programme Asia and Robert-Bosch-Stiftung, among others. Along with the Asian and German experts, Jean-Paul Costa, President of the International Institute of Human Rights (IIDH-Fondation René Cassin) and former President of the European Court of Human Rights as well as former German Minister of Defence Prof. Dr. Rupert Scholz gave a speech at the symposium. It was made a point by the organisers to especially invite young Asian scholars as discussants.
