Together with the renowned Japanese Research Institute for Peace and Security, we will explore these current and upcoming challenges in a public symposium. What lies ahead for the US-alliance network in Asia, and what role will Quad and AUKUS play in this context? How can ASEAN countries shape their Asian security environment using their established coordination mechanisms, such as ADMM and ARF? Will there be a growing importance of EU-Asia partnerships with the renewed engagement of Europe in the region?
Join us at 16:00 on February 19th to delve into these questions together with:
Admiral (ret.) Tomohisa Takei, 32nh Chief of Staff of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Forces
Prof. James Kraska, Professor of International Maritime Law at the US Naval War College
Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director General of the East Sea Institute at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam
Dr. Alexandra Sakaki, Deputy Head of the Asia Research Division at SWP
Following the symposium, we invite you to stay for an informal reception featuring food and drinks.
The event will be held in English.
