Details

Digital technologies are drastically changing the transport sector across the world. Especially European cities could strongly benefit from innovative technologies and the use of smart data shared between actors in a traffic system. The integration of smart components and systems as well as the production, aggregation and analysis of huge amounts of data could maintain a more efficient use of energy; optimize fuel consumption, speed levels and reduce accidents, traffic jams or noise.

While European metropoles are continuing to grow over the next decades, our urban-area traffic systems need to quickly adapt and modernize. Therefore, the EU and its member states are looking for smart solutions and advanced traffic management systems based on connectivity, cooperation and automation. Recently, the European Commission published its Cooperative Intelligent Transport System (C-ITS) Strategy, which defines the next steps towards increased smart mobility on European traffic systems.

At our second 'Think Digital' workshop, we will bring together EU policy makers and businesses to discuss the current state of play on smart mobility technologies and regulatory aspects to make this modernization a European success story.
