What is the current status of European legislation in the field of Artificial intelligence (AI) and Liability? Which regulatory challenges do we face? What cultural and ethical aspects need to be taken into consideration? These questions, among others, were discussed at the opening event of “Think Digital!”, an event series jointly organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, ZVEI (Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektroindustrie), Google and Siemens through 2018. The panel discussion took place at the Permanent Representation of the State of North Rhine Westphalia to the EU and saw contributions from Michał Boni (MEP), Salla Saastamoinen (Director for Civil and Commercial Justice at the European Commission's DG for Justice and Consumers), Leo Kärkkäinen (Chief Officer Artificial Intelligence, Nokia) and Bartek Telejko (Public Policy Expert of Google EU).
