Details

AccelerateHER Leadership Lab is back and we're going to Sabah!

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Malaysia and the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) Sabah will be hosting the AccelerateHER Leadership Lab 2.1 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

This two-day program will be held in Kota Kinabalu on 6th and 7th February 2025. Tailored for 30 participants, this cross-party lab is specifically designed to bring together women in politics and sharpen their skills as leaders.

The AccelerateHER Leadership Lab 2.1 will feature hands-on workshops, expert-led sessions, and peer engagement opportunities that would help women break through limiting beliefs and sharpen their communication skills. This empowers women politicians to present themselves as leaders to both party leadership and voters. The program also fosters collaboration and networking among women from across party lines, creating solidarity in the movement toward increased women’s representation.

Program Objectives

1. Increase Representation: Equip women leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to secure and excel in leadership roles, thereby increasing female representation in political decision-making.

2. Develop Political Competence: Train participants in advanced public speaking, social media strategy, branding, and combatting online hate, skills critical for engaging with diverse communities and driving support.

3. Build Cross-Party Networks: Encourage collaboration across party lines to strengthen collective efforts towards common goals of inclusivity and representation.

4. Promote Sustainable Leadership: Prepare participants to be resilient leaders who can adapt to changing political landscapes and challenges, setting an example for future generations of women in politics.
