Thema des diesjährigen „6th Forum of Emerging Leaders in Asian Journalism“ war der Einfluss sozialer Medien auf den Journalismus und die Medienarbeit in Asien. Die Konferenz mit Teilnehmern aus zehn Ländern fand im August erstmalig in Peking statt. Mitveranstalter waren das „Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism“ (ACFJ), die „Beijing Foreign Studies University“ (BFSU) und die Tageszeitung „China Daily“. Im Mittelpunkt der Diskussion stand die Bedeutung der chinesischen Microblogs für die traditionellen Medien in China.
