Auch in diesem Jahr unterstützen wir die Baltic United Nations Konferenz des Innerstädtischen Gymnasiums Rostock.
Die internationale BALMUN-Konferenz (Baltic Model United Nations) wird seit 2008 jährlich durchgeführt. Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Planspiel, bei dem die Teilnehmer in die Rolle von Delegierten der Vereinten Nationen schlüpfen. In simulierten Gremien werden weltpolitisch relevante Themen erarbeitet und diskutiert, Resolutionen werden zu den Themen verabschiedet. Die ganze Konferenz findet in Englischer Sprache statt.
Programm
Vanessa Vohs is a research associate and doctoral candidate at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich (Chair Prof Dr Carlo Masala) as well as an associated member at the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict Law (IFHV) Bochum. Ms. Vohs is a member of the Young Foreign Policy Working Group of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. She holds an LL.M. in International Law from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a B.A. in International Relations as well as an additional certificate in Latin American studies from TU Dresden and Hebrew University Jerusalem. She works on regulatory frameworks of Autonomy in Weapon Systems and is responsible for legal and ethical challenges within the EU-funded AI4DEF project. Her doctoral research focuses on the strategic use of law in German parliamentary debates on Bundeswehr deployments. Her main research areas are International Peace and Conflict Law, Technology and International Law and the United Nations. Previously, Vanessa Vohs worked as a Research Assistant at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), the House of Commons UK (Research Assistant Mark Logan MP) and as a Student Assistant at the Chair of International Politics at TU Dresden. She is also the podcast host of "UNrecht" from the United Nations Association (UNA) Germany, the German beginner's podcast for international law and international politics, as well as a board member of UNA-Germany. She completed an internship in the foreign office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Israel in Jerusalem.
