Economic Development in Nigeria: Perspectives Against the Backdrop of the Covid-19 Pandemic: A Virtual Dialogue Programme for German and Nigerian High Officials

KAS Nigeria in collaboration with the headquarters in Germany are organizing a three-day virtual dialogue programme for high officials from Germany and Nigeria with the focus on economic development in Nigeria during and after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The dialogue will start with a discussion by German experts in the development sector, who will assess the current and future chances and challenges of economic development in Nigeria. This will be followed by a discussion on perspectives of the new mid-term development plan of Nigeria, accompanied by the views of entrepreneurs. Other topics in this programme shall include the Role of the Legislature in Economic Development: Challenges and Achievements of the 9th Assembly; Insecurity as Major Obstacle for Economic Development in Nigeria; Economic Crimes and Corruption as Obstacles for Sustainable Economic Development in Nigeria; The ECOWAS – A Major Player of Economic Development in West Africa?; and The AfCFTA – A New Perspective for Nigeria?. The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to democracy, rule of law and good governance in Nigeria.
