Retreat on Strengthening Interagency Collaboration and Organizational Effectiveness for The Federal Ministry of Police Affairs and Related Agencies

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is cooperating with the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs (FMPA), to organize a three-day retreat to enhance interagency collaboration, cooperation and coordination among the various agencies that are being supervised by the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs, and to foster organizational effectiveness among the agencies in order to eliminate interagency rivalry and competition.
Participants at the retreat will include heads and senior officials from the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs, the Nigeria Police Force, the Police Academy, the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Police Service Commission, among others, drawn from the departments of operations, legal, finance/procurement, human resources, public relations, information communications technology etc. Dignitaries for the retreat will include the Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Hon. Minister of the FCT, the Inspector General of Police, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Head of Service among other official of the related MDAs. Through this retreat, these senior officials would be exposed to the principles and practice of interagency collaboration/coordination to enable them imbibe shared values that will support the building of sustainable platforms for effective information management, efficient service delivery, maximizing human resources, skills development and improve competencies for formulating and implementing good government policies / agenda that will foster effective policing and promote reform of the security sector. KAS has assembled an array of erudite resource persons who are experts in organization development, institutional strengthening, conflict management, governance and public service reforms, to facilitate at the retreat. The retreat is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the Security Sector Reform in Nigeria. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
