Details
Facing the challenge to implement the principles of good governance and strengthen the efficiency of the national and local institutions, Macedonia will be able to show its level of democratic maturity by organizing free and fair elections this spring. The upcoming elections will illustrate Macedonia’s political development since independence. Dealing with the responsibilities to become an EU and NATO member state, Macedonia will have to prove its functional political and social multiethnic governance capacity. For that matter, each political party and all the presidential candidates, election administration officials and the media, and above all Macedonia's citizens will have to sharpen their awareness of the individual responsibility in the shaping of the future of their country’s democratic development.
