In light of drastic changes to the environment in Asia, in the year 2011, the Rule of Law Programme Asia initiated a series of seminars, conventions, dialogues and experts’ meetings with worldwide partners all of over Asia. Spearheaded by KAS director, Mark Spitzkatz, the events covered a wide range of environmental governance topics, such as the promotion of renewable energy production, the combat of natural resources-related crimes, trans-boundary pollution, land and forest management. The role of the judiciary in, the cooperation between various agencies and regional or international perspectives were discussed as well. The events not only covered issues at hand but also the scale of challenges lying ahead of us.
Launched on the 26th May 2015, in Siem Reap, Cambodia, this book represents the outstanding work and findings of long-time partners and experts’ contributions from previous events. In this book, informative legal studies regarding the laws on environmental governance are presented in detail. The book is available for viewing here.
