Decentralisation has become a very important issue in Tanzanian political debates, though and because the country still remains highly centralised. In order to get to know more about the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of a federal system, the Tanzanian delegation will take part at seminars at the Bundestag (German Parliament), Bundesrat (Federal Council of Germany), Bundeskanzleramt (Federal Chancellery) and Bundespräsidialamt (Administrative Office of the Federal President) in Berlin during the first part of the visit.
The second part will take place in Hannover and Nienburg in order to bring the delegation closer to the local processes of a federal system. The Tanzanian politicians will get to know more about the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, as well as the system of political foundations in Federal Republic of Germany in general. Moreover, the delegation is invited to learn more about the internal structure and processes of the Youth- and Women-organisation of the CDU.
