The implementation of the “Act on Organization to Assign Radio Frequency and to Regulate the Broadcasting and Telecommunication Service B.E. 2553 (2010)” has created a major change on frequency allocation. The new regulations and services cover the operations of the media in many aspects, e.g. organization structure, ownership, licensing system, people’s rights protection, and frequency access. Consequently, the administrative cases concerning broadcasting and telecommunication issues have increased.
In this context, the Office of the Administrative Courts of Thailand (OAC), with the support of the KAS, is regularly organizing workshops about this topic. These workshops aim at providing administrative judges and case officials with up-to-date knowledge and information on business and technology concerned as well as related pieces of law in order to help them carry on their duties efficiently. In addition, the workshops allow the participants to share their experiences and opinions, thus deepening the common expertise regarding the judicial process.
This year’s workshop will take place on 26th – 28th August 2020 at the Administrative Court premise in Bangkok. This three-day workshop will cover the following topics:
- The basic concept of law concerning telecommunications;
- Rules and procedures for the use and the interconnection of telecommunication networks;
- Approval of frequency and relevant equipment;
- Allocation and management of telecommunication codes;
- Consumer protection regarding broadcasting and telecommunication
