In which ways can female leadership contribute to the fight to preserve democratic values and battle authoritarianism? The increased presence of women in the political arena can have a profound impact on the promotion of democracy. Women strengthen democratic institutions through diversity of opinion, which helps prevent policy oversights and unintended consequences. Female politicians are often more adept at reaching across party lines and forging consensus. In what ways can we foster these strengths and propel women into these leadership positions?
