The Konrad Adenauer Foundation offers full scholarships to fund master's, doctoral or research stays (of at least three semesters) at a German university.
Applicants must be socially or politically committed students or doctoral candidates from all fields of study1 , under 30 years of age and with proven German language skills (equivalent to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Requirements for scholarships are an excellent academic record and an affinity for democratic values, pluralism and human rights.

In addition to financial support, our scholarship recipients benefit in particular from
- access to an international network of more than 14,000 scholarship holders and alumni of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung,
- an extensive seminar program to accompany their studies and the opportunity to organize seminars and events independently
- personal support during studies and career planning by advisors from the Alumni Support Office and our reliable university professors.

Application Forms
Master's Scholarships
The following documents must be attached to the completed and signed application form:
- Letter of motivation (max. 1.5 pages),
- Curriculum vitae in tabular form in German,
- Copies of university certificates with a list of grades and certificates of achievement, as well as German translations of these documents,
- A letter of recommendation from a university professor assessing the applicant's professional qualifications,
- An expert opinion assessing the applicant's personal suitability (this expert opinion should not be prepared by the issuer of the university professor's opinion, but by another person),
- Proof of voluntary work,
- Proof of German language proficiency at the B2 level (at least B1 level of German at the time of application).
Doctoral Scholarship
When applying for a doctoral scholarship, the following documents must also be submitted:
- a detailed statement of reasons for the thesis project (outline of the problem, details of the planned methodological procedure, work plan and timetable) in German or English,
- An expert opinion from a university professor assessing the thesis project, the applicant's scientific qualifications and personal suitability (if the applicant has already been accepted as a supervisor, this expert opinion must be prepared by the PhD/doctoral supervisor),
- Expert opinion from another university professor assessing the applicant's scientific qualifications (the personality assessment required above does not apply to applicants for a doctoral fellowship),
- Certificate from the faculty or department on condition-free admission for doctoral studies (if already available).
