Gunter Rieck Moncayo

Gunter Rieck Moncayo has been an Economic and Trade Policy Advisor in the Division Analysis and Consulting, the internal think tank of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), since March 2023. Previously, he worked for nine years in the Division European and International Cooperation of the KAS, first as International Economic Policy Coordinator, then as Head of the Regional Programme ‘Social Governance in Latin America’ based in Santiago de Chile. Most recently, he was responsible for economic and trade issues in the department for Sub-Saharan Africa. Positions outside the KAS have taken Mr Rieck Moncayo to the staff of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva and to the Association of Family Businesses in Berlin, among others. During his studies of political science, economics and mathematics, he received scholarships from the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Foundation of German Business.
