2022 will be another important year for the continent, one in which the Covid-19 crisis will hopefully come to an end and which will offer African countries the opportunity to finally enter the phase of economic recovery. We are only a few weeks away from the official start of the Senegalese presidency at the African Union. Developments in Ethiopia will remain central to stability in the Horn of Africa. The same is true of the elections in Somalia. Recent unconstitutional changes in a number of AU member states have sparked a new debate on the validity of the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance.
With the new year, our KAS Office Ethiopia/African Union would like to offer you monthly newsletters and updates, including a brief overview of the latest developments at the AU. The offers will be published in German, English and French respectively.
