During the Kiel Security Conference on 22nd June 2024, high-ranking political and military representatives discussed the evolving security landscape in the Baltic region and the High North, in light of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and geopolitical shifts. Calling for faster military modernisation, strengthened resilience of societies and readiness to respond to the growing number of threats.

Dynamik, Mut zur Veränderung und Neugier auf Neues

Der Preis Soziale Marktwirtschaft geht in diesem Jahr nach Sachsen an die Unternehmer Nils Aldag und Christian von Olshausen. Die beiden Visionäre haben eindrucksvoll gezeigt, wie innovative Forschungsergebnisse in wirtschaftlich erfolgreiche Produkte umgewandelt werden können. Denn der Einsatz von Wasserstoff als Energiequelle der Zukunft führte ihre Firma Sunfire zum Erfolg.

Bericht zur XII. Adenauer Konferenz am 16. Mai 2024

Am zweiten Tag der XII. Adenauer-Konferenz stand die Stärkung des europäischen Pfeilers in der NATO und die Zukunft des Bündnisses im Fokus. Neben dem 75. Jahrestag der Gründung der NATO warf die Konferenz auch den Blick auf die 20-jährige Mitgliedschaft Rumäniens im Verteidigungsbündnis.

Hi Ai - the AI congress for everyone

On March 20, 2024, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation invited guests from science, business, politics and culture to a one-day AI conference. At our 17 sub-events, we offered our guests formats such as workshops, training sessions, exhibitions, talks and pitches, where we placed particular emphasis on a comprehensive perspective that highlighted both the technological aspects of AI and its impact on democracy and democratic processes.

Veranstaltungsbericht zum „Café Kyiv“-Panel

Das Bild der Ukraine in Deutschland hat sich seit Beginn des russischen Angriffskrieges gewandelt. Während die Ukraine vor dem 24. Februar 2022 in der breiten Öffentlichkeit kaum wahrgenommen wurde, beschäftigen sich deutsche Politik und Gesellschaft inzwischen intensiv mit dem Land. Das Panel thematisierte diesen Wahrnehmungswandel unter Berücksichtigung der eingesetzten Kommunikationsstrategien und Desinformationskampagnen.

Conference "Global Causes and Consequences of Medicine Shortages"

Event Report

Drug shortages keep making the headlines. The causes and consequences are manifold and global. Together with the Hertie School and supported by the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Federation of German Industries (BDI), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organised a conference on this topic from 20-21 February 2024 with representatives from science, politics and industry. After a day and a half of closed workshops, the conference ended on February 21 with a public part.

Die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung läutete das rechtspolitische Jahr traditionell mit dem Berliner Jahresrückblick ein: Dabei verdeutlichten die ausgewählten Entscheidungen aus dem vergangenen Karlsruher Gerichtsjahr sowohl die herausragende Rolle, die das höchste deutsche Gericht mit seiner Rechtsprechung im vergangenen Jahr einnahm als auch die weitreichenden Folgen, die sich daraus für Politik, Gesellschaft und Öffentlichkeit ergaben.

Cafe Kyiv 2024: "Putin cannot be allowed to win this war!"

Political discussions, pop-up market, workshops, films, fashion, art and Ukrainian cuisine

The second Cafe Kyiv took place on February 19 - this time with around 5,000 visitors at the Colosseum Berlin. Together with more than 100 partners, 120 program events on 10 stages and 260 speakers, a varied program was offered on site. There were workshops, political discussions, a charity pop-up market, films, art and Ukrainian fashion and cuisine to discover. Guests included Ursula Von der Leyen, Wladimir Klitschko and other representatives from politics, business and culture.
