Information for applicants for an internship at the Baltic states office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e. V. in Riga/Tallinn/Vilnius

We are very happy that you are interested in the work of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in the Baltic states!
Before you apply, read the following points carefully.
Your profile:
What you should definitely bring with you is:
- You are a student at an advanced level of study (Prediploma/ B.A. student after the third semester) in a subject relevant to political science.
- You are interested in the country and its people, in politics and political educational work.
- You have a good knowledge of German and English.
- Latvian, Estonian or Lithuanian language knowledge is an advantage, but not a necessity.
- You are enthusiastic about living and working in Riga, Tallinn or Vilnius for the duration of your internship.
- You are familiar with the MS office programmes.
- You like to work in a team surrounding.
Your tasks
We will discuss and define your tasks and duties at the start of your internship.
In general you will help us
- update our homepages
- assist with the organisation of our educational programme (workshops, seminars etc.)
- you will be given the possibility of joining discussions with our partners.
Furthermore you can assist us with different publications - it would therefore be of advantage if during your stay, you immerse yourself in a specific topic or area which surpasses the insight of our daily work.
This can be a topic relevant in your studies, for example an essay topic or a theme that you take an interest in and interlinks with the work of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. Do outline this topic in your application including an explanation why you find this particular topic so interesting!
Duration of the internship:
To gain an insight of our daily work and for us aswell, we are looking for interns who want to stay a minimum of two months.
Pay:
The internship is unpaid and unfortunately we cannot compensate your travel, lodging and daily expenses.
Of course you will receive a detailed certificate about your work after your internship.
There are funding possibilities for international internships, for example the Leonardo-programme. We are very happy to assist you in your application for funding. For more information about application procedures, please get in touch with your university.

Your application documents contain the following: Your preferred time for the internship, letter of motivation, CV including your language skills, transcripts of records and your university degree certificates

Basic information:
Before you come to Riga, Tallinn or Vilnius, take into account the following options about places to stay, distance to the office, cultural differences, traffic connections and public transport.
DonĀ“t hesitate to contact us if you have further questions. We are very happy to provide you with essential information before you come to us.
Insurance:
You should get a international health insurance for your stay in Riga, Tallinn or Vilnius, and a general accident insurance is recommended aswell, because the Konrad Adenauer Foundation cannot take on liability for any accidents that happen during your internship.
Visa:
If you are a EU-Citizen, no Visa is required, Non-EU citizens should gather information about the prerequisites before coming to the Baltic states.
