This issue of Cadernos Adenauer consists of eight chapters on the following topics: the Brazilian political scenario and the 2024 elections, the issue of electoral leftovers and their impact on the units of the Federation, the financing of electoral campaigns in the context of this year's elections, paradiplomacy, municipal consortia and a new public governance, the crisis of equity in the governance of digital platforms and its implications for the October ballot, the challenges of representativeness at local level, encompassing the prospects for the elections, with a focus on race and gender, the climate crisis, local elections and what can be expected from government plans in this regard, and the role of municipalities in universalizing citizen education in Brazil.
