On January 27th, as designated by the United Nation General Assembly Resolution 60/7, the world is commemorating the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. This day is important not only for reflecting on past events. It also obliges us to examine and confront contemporary anti-Semitism in its old and new manifestations.

Unfortunately, 71 years after the liberation of Auschwitz, Jews are once again publicly confronted with an increasingly hostile environment in the streets of Europe. The threat is coming not only from radical Islamists but also from political players and voices that traditionally were operating from the sidelines of society, and who recently have become more mainstream.

On the eve of this year's commemoration, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Israeli Mission to the EU and the AJC Transatlantic Institute have the honor to invite you to a panel discussion designed to identify the sources of this age-old hatred and discuss policy steps EU countries can take to counter it.
