Discussion
Details
What are the implications of some of the proclaimed rights for a decentralised country like Germany, with an economy resting largely on SMEs? As part of our ongoing cooperation, the European Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the German Association of Towns and Municipalities (DStGB) are, together with European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME, organising a panel debate on the role that communes and SMEs will play in context of the Pillar of Social Rights. Unemployment benefits, affordable living, and elderly care are some of the areas where a strong integrated process between the local level and the federal state will be vital. The discussion will take place on Wednesday, 21 March, 2018, at 7.00pm at the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the European Union. As speakers we will welcome Dennis Radtke, Member of the European Parliament, Uwe Lübking from DStGB and Vera Weidmann from the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses.
