The book deals with the most important aspects of climate problems in clear and accessible language based on the best scientific knowledge. It begins by explaining what climate change is, its physical causes, and clearly showing the evidence that the climate is changing. These are already observed and projected long-term impacts, as well as the various vulnerabilities of the planet's human and natural systems.
It then moves into the field of finding solutions, both in the sense of showing possible scenarios for urgent emission reductions, and in giving important weight to the equally urgent needs for adaptation and increasing the resilience of human and natural systems to changes expected weather. He points to a growing concern among Brazilians about the increase in the country's emissions in recent years and the need to directly address these issues in order to return Brazil to a leading position in climate change negotiations.
