As part of the agenda, on the 1st day we visited the Bosque de Yotoco Forest Reserve. On the 2nd day, the working groups of the Network presented the topics developed in their Policy Papers. Also, Major General Erik Rodriguez Aparicio, commander of the Joint Command No. 02 Southwest, spoke about the role of the Armed Forces in the face of biodiversity and climate change.

We are grateful for the presence of journalist and academic, Anjan Sundaram, who, together with the coordinator of the Environmental Security Network, Dr. Eduardo Pastrana, gave a presentation on illegal activities with a transboundary approach.

Mercury in aquatic ecosystems was also a topic discussed by biology specialists Pilar Cogua and Guillermo Duque Nivia. To conclude the second day's presentations, Dr. Joel Tupac Otero Ospina, professor of the Department of Basic Sciences of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, spoke on biodiversity and climate change.

On the 3rd day, Mauricio José Mira, Director of the Administrative Department of Environmental Management in Cali, provided information on the upcoming COP16.

A special hug and thanks to the Colombian National Army and our colleagues from KAS Colombia for their support in the organization of the event.

We continue to work as a team to improve coordination and environmental security from our borders!
