Are you looking for an interesting and varied internship with a political focus?
The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in London offers committed students the opportunity to complete a roughly 3-month internship. During the internship, you will get to know the international work of a German political foundation on-site and gain fascinating insights into political and social processes in the UK and Ireland.
Areas of Responsibility
The tasks of the interns include both substantive as well as administrative and organizational activities. Substantive tasks typically include supporting KAS staff in evaluating and summarizing the daily press, conducting academic research, and - in consultation with the office director - independently working on current political topics. Administrative tasks, such as maintaining our address database and assisting with public relations activities of the office, are also part of the daily routine.
Another important aspect is assisting in the planning, organization, and execution of various educational and dialogue events, which provide the opportunity to get to know KAS project partners and their work. Writing event reports is also part of the intern's duties.
At the end of the internship, you will receive a certificate of completion.
Requirements
The internship is aimed at politically interested and motivated students. Preference is given to graduates and students from the fourth semester onwards in the fields of European studies, political science, law, economics, and journalism. Given the tasks described above, the ability to write meaningful and polished texts in German and excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken, are essential requirements. Proficiency in MS Office and the internet is also expected.
Working in our small team requires loyalty, dedication, and a team-oriented attitude. Interns are also expected to show a willingness to work beyond regular hours when evening events are scheduled.
