The meeting took place against the backdrop of the refugee crisis in Europe and deep divisions on how to manage the situation, particularly between Germany and central and Eastern European states.
The first topic on the agenda was impact of potential disintegration in Europe, the gap between Eurozone and non-Eurozone countries and the potential impact of a "Brexit" resulting from the forthcoming in/out UK referendum.
The second subject of discussion was the global debt crisis - , overall debt has gone up since the crash. There is a massive debt over-hang and oversupply of debt.
The third topic addressed the question of how to increase competitiveness within the European Union.
The fourth and final topic was the role of monetary and fiscal policy and how these different - but often conflated - tools can and ought to be used within the context of Eurozone finance.
