Both the Prime Minister and Prof. Dr. Lammert emphasized the long and trustful work of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Moldova. The Foundation has been present in Chisinau since 2009 with an office, and since the beginning of 2023 with its own office manager for the country.

The prime minister reported major social dislocations as a direct result of Russia's war of aggression and direct hybrid warfare by Moscow, especially with energy. However, with European assistance, the government has been able to provide direct support to many citizens; it is well prepared for the coming winter due to strategic purchases of gas.

At the same time, the country continues to be the focus of a variety of disinformation strategies aimed at discrediting the European Union, making false claims about the sources of inflation, or spreading misleading narratives surrounding the Russian war of aggression.

Unfortunately, in business circles, Moldova is sometimes understood as a risky country in close proximity to the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine. However, not only is there no risk at all - right now many companies could position themselves, especially in infrastructure projects - which will then be of central importance in the course of the reconstruction in Ukraine.

Prof. Dr. Lammert promised the Prime Minister the further support of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Berlin and on site for the European way of his country.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister met with members of the Bundestag as well as parliamentary group staff in the rooms of the Adenauer Foundation to discuss reforms and the possibility of opening accession talks for Moldova at the end of the year.
