A “Broken Arrow” is defined as an unexpected event involving nuclear weapons that results in the accidental launching, firing, detonating, theft or loss of the weapon.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) was alerted by a radar system in Thule, Greenland, that dozens of Soviet missiles were launched at the US. It turned out to be the rising moon over Norway.
