Responsibilities
As an intern, you will be in charge of both analytical as well as administrative and organizational support. Tasks include assisting the research associates in preparing background reports on the Nordic countries, evaluating specialist publications and the daily press, reporting to the Foundation's office in Berlin, or carrying out scientific research on selected topics. Furthermore, you will also be actively involved in the office’s administrative duties. You will also support the team in preparing and executing symposia and international conferences.
In addition to these diverse activities, you will get to know the activities and working methods of the Stockholm office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. At the end of your internship, you will receive a certificate of completion.
Requirements
The internship is aimed at politically interested persons. Preference will be given to people with a degree in European studies, political science, law, economics, journalism or related fields. A sound knowledge of international relations is required to successfully complete the tasks. In addition to German, a very good command of English is required; knowledge of a Scandinavian language is advantageous. A good command of MS Office is also required.
Working in our small team requires team work, commitment and strong communication skills. Interns are also expected to be willing to work beyond the fixed working hours from time to time, e.g. when events take place in the evening or at weekends.
Remuneration
The monthly internship allowance amounts to 5.000 SEK. Additional financial support for those who are eligible can be requested via Erasmus+. For further information please consult the Erasmus+ website.
Duration of Internship
The regional program currently offers two periods for internships: January to May and September to December. The duration of the internship is at least three months and you are entitled to two vacation days per month.
Please note that we do not offer internships during the summer months.
