Details

The teachers are offered the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in the field of democratic processes in schools. In cooperation with experienced trainers, they develop materials for promoting a culture of democracy between pupils, teachers and decision-makers.

A child's right to freedom of opinion and expression and the right to peaceful assembly are enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which thereby recognises the need for student participation and opportunities for student organising. Any civil society is based on these rights. Active participation in democratic processes from a young age supports children's development into responsible citizens and thus the main actors of an active civil society.
