On February 27, 2020, the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation in Panama invited 23 representatives of its partner organizations to a seminar on project management. Winfried Weck, Director of the Regional Program ADELA and Office Director of the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation in Panama, opened the event by introducing the history, working methods as well as the most important challenges and goals of the Foundation worldwide and in Panama. Afterwards the values of democracy, the social market economy and the foundation landscape in Germany were presented in various short films. Project Coordinator Alixenia López and Communication Coordinator Yadira Gratacos then gave a talk about different possibilities of cooperation that are available to the partner organizations and showed examples of successful events in the past.
This was followed by a discussion on the project management within the KAS and an explanation on the responsibilities of the foundation and its project partners. To this end, the participants were actively involved and asked a multitude of detailed questions on the topic. It became clear that many of the guests from institutions like the Tribunal Electoral, various ministries, universities and other institutions were already working on similar projects. A closer cooperation in the future would therefore be very desirable in order to avoid work overlaps and to make use of synergies.
The possibilities of further cooperation were discussed extensively at a joint lunch after the seminar, which was also used for networking and further questions. At the end of the event, all participants were asked to fill out an evaluation form, which gave the indication that the seminar was very well received overall. Many of the guests also wished for a continuation of this kind of seminar and praised the exciting possibilities it provided.
