The Adenauer Security Experts Network Philippines (SeEN PH) is a flagship program of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Philippines launched as part of its 60th year anniversary. The program aims to cultivate and empower the next generation of leaders in the Philippine security policy and security studies sector.
By fostering a collaborative network of Fellows and experts, SeEN PH aspires to enrich scholarly discourse and strengthen the country’s capabilities to tackle the growing complexities within an evolving global security landscape. The program will adopt a holistic and inclusive approach to the study and practice of security, covering both traditional and non-traditional security and how these challenges are connected to governance.
For its inaugural year, three (3) SeEN PH Fellows will receive valuable training, mentorship, and exchanges with esteemed experts and peers in the field to develop their policy proposal, thereby gaining a meaningful platform to advocate for their security initiatives.
Specific Objectives
Through the SeEN PH program, the SeEN PH Fellows will each produce a policy paper on the policy topic accepted by KAS at the time of selection.
A culminating activity will be held where the 3 SeEN PH Fellows are required to defend their policy paper as part of the completion requirements. Only policy papers that gain a satisfactory rating shall be published by KAS Philippines.
Format
Activities will be done in a hybrid format, incorporating both synchronous and asynchronous sessions. All activities will be done between June to November 2024. Attendance is required for all activities.
In between the in-person and synchronous online sessions, the SeEN PH Fellows are expected to work toward completing their policy papers.
