As an intern at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) foreign office in Amman, exciting tasks await you!
Since 2009, KAS has been implementing projects in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) as a think tank and political consultancy. The Regional Programme Gulf States (RPG), based in Amman, Jordan, therefore offers motivated students in advanced semesters the opportunity to gain insight into the international work of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung during a two- to three-month internship and to directly observe political and societal processes in the Gulf States.
As an intern, you will actively support our team in Amman in various areas of work:
Project Management
- Assisting in the planning, implementation, and follow-up of workshops, seminars/trainings, and conferences organized by KAS in the Gulf States and Yemen;
- Contributing to the development and editing of concept papers and project proposals.
Research
- Monitoring current media coverage of the Gulf region;
- Conducting research on socio-economic and political topics & assisting in the preparation of country reports on GCC states;
- Depending on your expertise, contributing to political consulting and research projects.
Administration
- Providing organizational support for ongoing office operations;
- Assisting in the creation and editing of texts in German, English, and, if applicable, Arabic, including event reports, internal documents, memos, and minutes;
- Updating and maintaining the website of the Regional Programme Gulf States and supporting other public relations activities.
Requirements for an internship at RPG:
- Advanced studies in social sciences or economics;
- Basic knowledge of politics and history of the Gulf States and an interest in current social, political, and economic developments in the region;
- A strong interest in living in a foreign country and working in a multicultural environment;
- Team orientation, organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and flexibility;
- Independent, structured work approach and a high level of initiative;
- Excellent English skills (written and spoken); Arabic skills are an advantage;
- Solid IT skills.
