Law encompasses every sphere of life and society. However, in this age of digitalization, our traditional ways of learning and living have changed, in every possible aspect. There are new forms of legal responsibilities, rights and violations of these. Even the best of our laws are, sometimes, subject to severe modifications. Thus, we are also often witnessing a complexification of our legal systems.
As a result, applying traditional means to communicate legal knowledge isn’t enough anymore. New means are needed and new procedures. Legal actors have the duty to make legal knowledge simple and admissible for every person. Ultimately, “Complexity should be considered as our common enemy that shall be defeated by making complex ideas simple, but not simpler”.
This said, what’s the best way to share, gain and disseminate legal knowledge? What possibilities are there, what are current restrictions and challenges? In order to answer those questions, the Rule of Law Programme Middle East and North Africa of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in cooperation with the Lebanon Law Review (LLR) is organizing a one day conference in which region’s leading legal pioneers, jurists, academians, legislators, and practitioners will be attending.
The conference consists of two distinct panel discussions featuring national and international European experts. The conference shall begin at 9 AM on Friday, 12 August 2022 at the Lancaster Plaza Hotel Beirut. For registration, you are kindly asked to click on the following link.
