The first part comprises eleven case studies that follow the individual and collective destinies of people who experienced imprisonment or were subjected to persecution by the Securitate. The second chapter is dedicated to places of memory in the city, historical spaces that are linked to the repression that took place in the first two post-war decades. The third part contains an investigation of the local repression, how it took place and its effects, and the last chapter is a dictionary of former political prisoners from Ploiesti identified so far on the basis of reliable documentary sources.
