A unique opportunity to engage in stability and security in West Africa
The Regional Program for Political Security Dialogue in West Africa (SIPODI West), implemented by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), offers internships for students who want to gain practical experience in governance, security, and political dialogue in West Africa.
Our program primarily focuses on Côte d’Ivoire and the countries in the Gulf of Guinea working with institutional, academic, and civil society partners to strengthen stability and security cooperation in the region.
An internship at SIPODI West offers a unique opportunity for immersion in an international work environment and allows interns to develop analytical, organizational, and operational skills in a dynamic setting.
📌 Desired Profile
✔ Studies in political science, international relations, strategic studies, law, social sciences, economics, or related disciplines with a focus on West Africa.
✔ Completion of at least two years of university studies.
✔ Excellent French language skills (written and spoken).
✔ Good English proficiency (recommended for internal and external communication).
✔ Strong interest in security, defense, and international political issues in West Africa.
✔ Team spirit, flexibility, and commitment in a multicultural environment.
📌 Internship Tasks
🔹 Support in the preparation and implementation of security dialogue activities (seminars, conferences, workshops), including logistics and event follow-up.
🔹 Participation in project meetings with our partners and preparation of reports on discussions and decisions.
🔹 Conducting political analyses and thematic research on security and governance issues in West Africa.
🔹 Administrative and logistical support (travel arrangements, service provider coordination, document management).
🔹 Representing the program at external events and drafting summaries.
Interns will be fully integrated into SIPODI West activities and have the opportunity to interact with security experts, researchers, and institutional representatives.
📌 Practical Information
✔ Duration: Three months (adjustable based on availability).
✔ Location: SIPODI West Office – Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
✔ Compensation: The internship is unpaid, but a monthly allowance is provided.
✔ Internship certificate issued upon completion.
