The focus of the trip was on the current political developments in Armenia and the relations with the neighbouring countries, the EU and Russia. The students had a chance to exchange views with different Armenian experts such as Richard Giragosian, Director of the Center for Regional Studies, Aleksandr Iskandaran, Director of the Caucasus Institute, Ashot Aleksanyan, Professor of the Faculty for Politics and International Relation and Viktor Yengibaryan, Member of Parliament of the “My Step” alliance. Furthermore, the fellows participated in a debate and had the chance to talk to Armenian students about the history of the country. The trip was completed by a visit of the Armenian Genocide memorial complex Tsitsernakaberd. Thomas Schrapel, Director of the KAS Regional Programme Political Dialogue South Caucasus, shared his experiences with the students.
