The event brought together about 100 participants from diverse backgrounds, including young people, educators, and community leaders, at the historic Fourah Bay College. Their aim was to strengthen their knowledge on key topics such as democracy, the rule of law, governance, the role of the media, and sustainable development.

The seminar sought to promote civic engagement, encourage democratic participation, and raise awareness among citizens about their rights and responsibilities. Through interactive discussions and practical modules, participants explored innovative solutions to address challenges related to active citizenship and national cohesion.

This initiative aligns with the programme mission to support sustainable development, good governance, and the rule of law in West Africa. It also highlights the successful partnership between KAS and MoICE, working together to strengthen democracy and build an informed, responsible citizenry in Sierra Leone. For this purpose, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on November 25, 2024.
