What is expected from the German "Energiewende"? Is energy transition primarily a technical or a sociopolitical challenge? And how can the international community organise joint learning on technical and political solutions for sustainable transformation?

The event is co-organised by the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE), the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). The SDSN was founded in 2012 under the auspices of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and connects institutions and key individuals from developing, emerging and industrialised countries. The DIE has been an official network member since 2013.
