Christian Democracy and the Challenge of Right-Wing Populism in the North
In the wake of Covid-19 and the challenge posed by populism, what future faces Christian democracy and the Christian democratic parties in Germany and the Nordic counties? What can we learn from these parties’ legacies?
Norway, Germany and Sweden have upcoming national elections looming in 2021, 2021, and 2022, respectively. What challenges face Christian democratic parties ahead of these elections? Which strategic choices do these parties face, in particular related to maintaining the unity of the center-right and facing the challenge of right-wing populism?
