Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) DW GMF Session: Journalism can’t be activism
Journalism has to face and overcome many problems of its own making. One of these is the challenge that more and more journalists seem to consider themselves as activists. The KAS Media Programmes in Johannesburg, Singapore and Sofia are bringing together well-established journalists from Africa, Asia and Southeast Europe who share their experiences as to why journalism in its urge to preserve credibility can hardly ever be activism.
In the light of the focus on “Sharing Solutions”, we want to outline how journalism can be sensitive yet clear about the need to remain empathic yet non-partisan.
