As a consequence of Russia’s brutal attack against Ukraine, many European states have adjusted their national security and defence strategies. The barbaric, pogrom-like attack by Palestinian terrorists on Israel also emphasizes the importance of a reliable and ready intelligence and defence system. Military capabilities are in the focus of the debate on how to increase a democracy’s ability to act and protect its citizens. However, these events have also highlighted essential questions on conventional crisis management and resilience. Countries such as Russia and Iran have engaged in hybrid wars with European states long before.
What do we need to do to build strong and resilient societies? How can a shift in a nation’s strategic mindset be achieved? And what role do the armed forces play?
To discuss these and other questions, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung cordially invites you to the Tiergarten Talks – the yearly event for members of our networks and the young foreign policy community in Berlin. We bring together young decision-makers and representatives from politics, ministries, embassies and think tanks in the heart of Berlin's diplomatic quarter for networking and an exchange on global challenges and international politics.
The event will be held in English.
