Reviewing the Form and Substance of the 2021 Elections
This publication features contributions of eight Ugandan authors, drawn from both academia and civil society, each offering a unique perspective on the dynamics of the 2021 presidential elections and their aftermath. It holds significant importance as it critically engages with a fundamental element of democratic systems: elections. By bringing this body of work to life, KAS Uganda and South Sudan together with the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre (Makerere University, Uganda) aim not only to provoke thoughtful reflection on the democratic processes surrounding the 2021 elections but also to provide a comprehensive resource that offers valuable insights and lessons for the upcoming 2026 elections. This book serves as both a reflection on past elections and a reference for future electoral integrity.
