Europe - a community of values
One of the Fathers of Europe, the Christian Democrat, Robert Schuman (1886-1963), said that the European institutions “cannot and must not remain an economic and technical enterprise: it needs a soul, conscience of its historical affinities and of its responsibilities in the present and in the future, and a political will at the service of the same human ideal”. In the light of current events such as the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis in Europe and ongoing challenges like the increasingly authoritarian China, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Nordic countries and Civita invite to discuss the role of the European Union at a breakfast seminar February 8th.
Panelists:
Michael Borchard, Head of of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s Archive for Christian-Democratic Policy
Janne Haaland Matlary, professor of politics at University of Oslo
Ine Eriksen Søreide, Member of parliament for Høyre, chair of the foreign relations committee and former Foreign Minister”
Breakfast seminar: February 8th, 08:00-09:15 at La Fable, Nedre Vollgt. 19, Oslo (Entrance via Stortingsgaten)
Please register at Civita's website. The event will be also life-streamed.
