Timbro and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Nordic Countries Project invite you to an online discussion about professor Clas Rehnberg’s Timbro report The East German Phenomenon: The Development of Public Health and Healthcare Provision After the Fall of the Berlin Wall, whose translation into English has recently been made possible thanks to KAS’s financial assistance. Professor Rehnberg’s report chronicles the positive public health development experienced in Eastern Germany following the reunification of Germany. The report also summarises the current state of research conducted into the provision of healthcare in former East Germany.

Clas Rehnberg is Professor at the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics at the Karolinska Institute.

Professor Steffen Fleßa, Head of the Department of Healthcare Management and vice rector of the University of Greifswald, will join the discussion.

Martina Kaiser, KAS Global Health Policy Advisor, will give some opening remarks. Richard Forsén from the KAS Nordic countries project will moderate the discussion.

Register your attendance here. Participation links will be sent to you upon confirmation of registration. The event will also be transmitted live on the KAS Nordic Countries Project Facebook page and will later be made available on demand on Facebook and YouTube.
