The 104-pages’ publication offers concise and practically-oriented information on three major issues:

  1. what is the structure of the European Union;
  2. how main EU institutions work, and
  3. how to work with press services of EU institutions.
Each chapter holds contact details of numerous officers and institutions that can equip Belarusian mass media with all kinds of information concerning the EU-Belarus relations, e.g. documents, papers, comments, updates. Alongside with that, the guidebook gives a detailed description of various information and technical resources that the EU makes available to journalists who are reporting on EU-related topics, from websites and portals with press releases, audio, photo and video to instructions on how to get accredited or make use of the TV and radio studio facilities.

The guidebook portrays situation in the EU bodies as of February 2010 and, therefore, reflects all changes connected with the introduction of the Lisbon Treaty on December 1, 2009, and approval of the new European Commission, which was announced on February 9, 2010.

The guidebook was published in two languages: Belarusian (500 copies) and Russian (200 copies). In addition to the printed pocket-size book, journalists can turn to useful account its 48-page A4-size electronic version, which can be downloaded free of charge as a pdf file and printed out with help of one’s home or office printer.

The electronic copy of the guidebook is available on the website of the online photo- and audiovisual library, devoted to relations of European Union and Belarus:
